Buenos Aires, November 23 (NA) -- A Lanús fan was barred from the Copa Sudamericana final after being denied entry at the Puerto Falcón border control post on the border with Clorinda due to alleged threats on social media.
According to confirmation from the Argentine News Agency, Paraguayan authorities applied a special security protocol for the match between Lanús and Atlético Mineiro and blocked his entry after detecting messages on social networks where the young Argentine expressed his intention to enter the country with a firearm.
Migrations confirmed that there was no formal detention at the border checkpoint, although it was decided to prevent him from accessing the national territory based on prior information collected during the operation.
The measure left the fan unable to travel to Asunción to witness the continental final.
